OCS Students at Cenotaph Ceremony

Kirsten and John represented OCS at a ceremony at the Cenotaph at Robertson Park on Monday 27th March.

The ceremony was attended by NSW Minister for Veterans Affairs, David Elliott, NSW Surveyor General, Narelle Underwood, Mayor John Davis, the President of the Orange sub-branch of the RSL, artist Fiona Hall and other representatives of the local community.

As part of the Centenary of ANZAC the NSW government is refurbishing and extending the Anzac Memorial in Hyde Park in Sydney.

Artist Fiona Hall has designed an installation that will be the centrepiece of the extension. It will display the name and a sample of soil from the 1699 locales across NSW from which soldiers enlisted to serve in WW1.

These photos show Kirsten and John placing soil into the jar that will represent Orange. The jar is held by the Surveyor General of NSW, Narelle Underwood.
