On Monday, 9th March, ten Orange Christian School students travelled to Blacktown to compete at the CSSA Primary State Swimming Carnival.
Our team consisted of Noah Averkin, Rikky Bangert, TJ Childs, Sophie Coleman, Suzie Daugherty, Anika James, Lesieli Kaufusi, Caitlyn Nobbs, Jacob Pulling and Leo Pulling. All swam to the best of their ability and many improved upon their entry times quite significantly and achieved personal best times.
Jacob Pulling was our most busy swimmer as he was entered in every event. This included six individual events and two relays. Jacob also had the best result of the day, coming 5th overall in the 12-13 years 50m butterfly. He improved upon his entry time by 3.50 seconds.
Other standout results were achieved by TJ Childs and Caitlyn Nobbs. Both came first in their heats and improved upon their times. Overall TJ came 7th in the 12-13 years 50m breaststroke and Caitlyn came 7th in the 11 years 50m freestyle.
All of our students can be congratulated on their efforts. A big thank you goes to the parents who transported and supported our students throughout the day. Your contribution certainly helped to make this day the success it was. Thank you also to those who took on the job of timekeeping, your willingness to help out on the day was very much appreciated.
