On Monday, 16th March, the Year 7 and 8 boys participated in a workshop session about being a Man of God. This was run by Nathan Dirs, one of our OCS parents and a local pastor, along with Mr Chown, Mr Gray and Mrs Berry. The focus was on being a leader of Godly character, as per our vision statement, and what that actually means for a 12-14 year old young man.
Nathan spoke about a man of God standing up for those who are weaker or pushed aside, and setting an example through how they live their lives. He used the following verses to explain to the group about how they can be Men of God:
Micah 6:8 – He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
1 Timothy 4:12 – Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
Thank you to Nathan for working with our young men.
