Parents & Friends Committee
The P & F is made up of the Co-ordinator, Secretary, Treasurer, Fellowship, Fundraising and Fete Co-ordinators (P&F job specs). We all work together with other parents from the school to help the school. Any parent or grandparent can be apart of the P&F and all are welcomed.
I have reproduced my 2007 Report below so that the community can see what the P&F are doing throughtout the year. You can email me via the school on ocs@ocs.nsw.edu.au or come to our meetings.
I would like to thank the local businesses that support our efforts and the parents at the school and their extended families.

P & F Report 2007
A big thank you to all who pitched in during 2007 to ensure the P&F’s charter of “coordinating fundraising, parent involvement, service and fellowship activities through Orange Christian School” was met. Many faithful stalwarts, new parents to the school, and those who were called on at short notice to help, have contributed beyond the call of duty. Your efforts are much appreciated.
While the fete is the major fund-raiser for the year, it is also the activity that best involves parents at every level during the organisational stage, and in the fellowship that occurs on the day that is unparalleled. It showcases the school through its students’ accomplishments as well as the “feel” and “atmosphere” of the school in a non-threatening environment for prospective school families.
In 2007, close to $10,400 was raised. Other valuable contributions to fund-raising during the year come from on-going income through the Clothing Pool and the house numbering contract with the Orange City Council. Thank you to Aivars Klavins who has single-handedly and voluntarily carried out the house numbering for many years, traveling from his home in Raglan.
Several major purchases were made using P&F funds raised during the year, approximately $14,000. Chaplainship, Play equipment for Primary and Pre-Kinder, Shearing equipment, First Aid Backpacks – Bush Track.
Service and fellowship for the school community has continued in the provision of morning tea for staff and helpers at the sporting carnivals, the morning tea to welcome new parents on the first day of school, refreshments for the Dedication and Thanksgiving Services that mark the beginning and end of the school year, suppers at the Association Meetings, lunch for the Big Working Bee and serving of lunch for the Staff/Board retreat.
The P&F leadership for 2008 has been restructured to split the huge role of the P&F President into areas of responsibility. This will spread the load and allow more parents to be involved at more manageable and practical levels. Thank you for the following people who have volunteered for the key responsibility areas of the P&F. Thank you also for the faithful parents who have served and are willing to serve in support roles:
